Happy Thanksgiving!

We were lucky to host Spencer's parents for our first Thanksgiving at home.  They flew in from CO on Monday and left Friday. We had a great week shopping, eating, and being shown all kinds of cool places Steve remembers from growing up in SoCal.

Shep hiding under the table.  I love this dog!  He is my little boy (even at 11 1/2 years old). He is my side kick and my little buddy.  He is such a sweet heart and so opinionated!
But fear not...as soon at Steve took over carving the turkey, Shep was right there to make sure he didn't drop anything. He has his grandparents wrapped around his little paw...and knows just how to work the system. He is one smart doggy!!
And after a wonderful dinner....we had dessert!!  Cheesecake and apple pie-lets, with fresh fruit, real whipped cream and homemade vanilla ice cream!!!  We go all out in this family!! Looks delicious!!

November Snow!!

No...not in California!  Scared you...didn't I?  Last weekend I packed up the dog and we hit the road for Utah. Grandma hurt her shoulder and is in rehab so we came out to help get her back on her feet.  I was a good kid and checked the weather forecast before packing. I saw snow and figured...ok...jeans, long sleeves, tennis shoes, and my winter jacket...I'm good.  HAHA  WRONG!  I was planning on a Colorado snow which is a VERY different thing from a Utah snow. 12+ inches later...

We ended up with closer to 18 inches...  This was day two of snow...FYI...My car had been clean when I parked it the night before.

But, it was 50 degrees yesterday and supposed to be nice again today.  And like my wise brother said...enjoy the snow, you don't have to put up with it all winter long!!  Good Point!!

Happy Halloween!!

I actually dislike Halloween.  I haven't always felt this way.  I think its a product of being too old to trick-or-treat and not having cute kids to parade around town. I'm also pretty picky when it comes to candy.  I won't waste my calories on junk...

Needless to say...I'm happy we've moved on to two of my favorite holidays.  I've always felt like each holiday deserves its time to shine. So.. onto Thanksgiving!!

But first...am I the only person who doesn't spend money on costumes for dogs??  No?  GOOD!!  We did decide to safety pin a towel around Shep's neck and make him a real live super hero!!

Shep the Great!!
